The Ferrari 296 GTB is a rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive model offered by the Italian car maker. Introduced to the market in 2022, the Ferrari 296 is offered as a GTB coupe or a golding hard-top GTS convertible. However, the Ferrari 296 is also the first model from the Fiorano factory that comes with a six-cylinder hybrid engine, delivering a two-punch knockout blow of a staggering 819 horsepower. It can even be driven in pure all-electric mode for short distances, thus allowing Ferrari to comply with strict zero-emission norms in some urban areas.

The 296 in the model name reprises the original Dinos’s naming scheme from the Dino, a well-known Ferrari venture into a “more affordable” model range back in 1974, indicating the engine’s displacement and the number of cylinders. Furthermore, the GTB stands for Gran Turismo Berlinetta.

The 296 GTB is powered by the aforementioned hybrid engine, displacing 3.0 liters with six cylinders laid out in a 120° fashion. It delivers a maximum output of 663 horsepower at 8,000 RPM and is joined with a 123kW (165 horsepower) electric motor, giving it a total output of 819 horsepower. A high-voltage accumulator positioned under the floor with an energy capacity of 7.45 kWh (26.8 MJ) enables an electrical range of 25 km (16 mi). Together, this allows the Ferrari 296 GTB to sprint from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 2.9 seconds, whilst achieving a top speed of over 205mph (330km/h).
