PTS Anthracite Brown Porsche 992.2 GT3: TECHART Carbon, Akrapovic Titanium, and Full XPEL Protection by Bulletproof Automotive

A Paint to Sample Porsche 911 GT3 is already a rare sight in Los Angeles. One finished in PTS Anthracite Brown Metallic, wrapped nose to tail in bespoke XPEL film, dressed in TECHART carbon fiber, and breathing through a full Akrapovic titanium exhaust is something else entirely. This 992.2 GT3 came to Bulletproof Automotive with a clear brief from its owner: protect every inch of that paint, sharpen the car where Porsche left room, and keep it looking like it could have rolled out of Zuffenhausen this way. Here is how the build came together.

The 992.2 generation GT3 arrived to mark 25 years of the GT3 badge, and Porsche resisted every temptation to mess with the formula. The heart is still a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six making 502 horsepower and 450 Nm (331 lb-ft) of torque, spinning all the way to a 9,000 rpm redline. Despite tighter emissions hardware, Porsche fitted hotter camshafts derived from the GT3 RS, revised the individual throttle bodies, and shortened the final drive ratio by eight percent, so the car pulls harder through every gear than the numbers suggest. With the PDK, 0 to 60 mph takes 3.2 seconds (0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds), and the manual is still on the order sheet for the purists.

Add the double-wishbone front suspension borrowed from the 911 RSR race car, the revised front aero, and the new folding carbon bucket seats, and you have the most complete GT3 Porsche has built. Add a Paint to Sample color that most buyers will never see in person, and you have a car where a single rock chip on the front bumper genuinely hurts. Anthracite Brown Metallic is the kind of shade that reads nearly black in the shade and blooms into warm bronze and copper flake in direct California sun. A color like that needs protection before it needs anything else.

Full-Body XPEL Ultimate Plus PPF, Ceramic Coating, and Prime XR Plus Tint

The foundation of this build is a full vehicle bespoke XPEL Ultimate Plus paint protection film (PPF) installation. Bespoke matters here. Rather than relying purely on pre-cut patterns, our installers custom fit the film to this specific car, wrapping edges and tucking seams wherever the panel allows so the film all but disappears. On a dark metallic PTS color, that is the difference between a car that looks wrapped and a car that simply looks flawless. Ultimate Plus brings self-healing properties that erase light swirls and scratches with heat, stain resistance, and a high-gloss finish that adds depth to the metallic flake instead of muting it.

Over the film, we applied a full-vehicle, professional-grade ceramic coating, which gives the surface serious hydrophobic behavior, makes washing dramatically easier, and adds another layer of UV and chemical resistance. We carried the same logic to the parts of the car that take the most abuse: a full wheel barrel and caliper ceramic coating. A GT3 driven properly generates brake dust in volume, and coated barrels and calipers release it with a rinse rather than baking it in.

The glass received XPEL Prime XR Plus nano-ceramic window tint all around. XR Plus is XPEL’s top-tier film, built on multi-layer nano-ceramic particle technology that rejects the vast majority of infrared heat and blocks over 99 percent of UV rays without interfering with radio, cellular, or GPS signals. In a cabin trimmed in Race-Tex and carbon, under Southern California sun, that is functional equipment, not decoration.

Factory Stripes Recreated, and the Details Most People Miss

One of the most labor-intensive parts of this project is also one of the subtlest. We fully recreated the factory stripes in a custom color, matching the original placement, proportions, and lines exactly, while choosing a shade tailored to sit against the Anthracite Brown. The result keeps the factory design language intact but gives the car a color combination you cannot order from Porsche at any price.

We also swapped the amber units for an OEM clear side marker upgrade. It is a small change using genuine Porsche parts, and it cleans up the front fenders in a way that suits a dark, monochromatic build like this one. It is exactly the kind of detail that owners notice every time they walk up to the car.

TECHART Carbon Fiber: Front Spoiler, Side Skirts, and Rear Apron

TECHART has been refining Porsches since 1987, and it developed its carbon program for the 992.2 GT3 the way Porsche would: in the wind tunnel, with every component following the factory contours. This car wears the TECHART carbon front spoiler, carbon side skirts, and carbon rear apron. The front spoiler reworks the splitter geometry to improve aerodynamic performance over the front axle, the side skirts visually lower and widen the car, and the rear apron with its aero fins ties the whole package together.

What makes the TECHART parts work is that they form one continuous line of visible carbon fiber around the car’s lower perimeter. Against Anthracite Brown Metallic, the carbon weave does not shout. It frames the color. As an authorized TECHART dealer, Bulletproof Automotive sourced, test-fitted, protected, and installed every piece in-house.

Akrapovic Titanium, M-Engineering Software, and E-Motion Hardware

The 4.0-liter flat-six is one of the best-sounding engines on sale, and the full Akrapovic titanium exhaust lets it prove it. Akrapovic builds its systems from high-grade titanium, with key components cast in the company’s own foundry in Slovenia. The payoff is meaningful weight reduction hanging off the very back of the car, a cleaner, more metallic tone at cruise, and a top-end wail past 8,000 rpm that the factory system keeps politely muffled.

To make the most of the improved flow, the car received an M-Engineering ECU flash. M-Engineering is one of the few tuners to have cracked the new locked ECU in the 992.2, and its calibration sharpens throttle response, optimizes ignition timing and air/fuel ratios, and retains all of the factory engine safety strategies. On a naturally aspirated GT3, the gains are as much about response and mid-range as peak numbers, and that is precisely where you feel them on a canyon road.

In the chassis, we fitted E-Motion rear lower control arms. Machined from billet aluminum with motorsport-grade spherical bearings, they reduce deflection under load and open up precise alignment adjustment at the rear axle, which pays off in traction and consistency when the car is pushed. Finally, the cabin got a small upgrade with a big impact: the DesignsbyJacob recliner seat bracket. It raises the front of the factory carbon race seat by roughly an inch, relaxing the fixed seatback angle for a more comfortable driving position and freeing up helmet clearance on track days. Anyone who has spent three hours in a carbon bucket will understand immediately.
